Rockstar Games Turns Miami into Vice City for GTA VI Launch, but County Officials Push Back

A "Welcome to Vice City" sign has been displayed at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, since October 1, advertising the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19. The game presents a fictional version of southern Florida, known as Leonida, with Miami depicted as Vice City. On November 18, the Miami Heat will face off against the Milwaukee Bucks, donning themed jerseys and utilizing a specially designed court. The sponsorship for the Kaseya Center amounted to $975,000 and was approved by the mayor without a vote, despite some political pushback regarding the game's content. Early September discussions with Rockstar led to various promotional activities, including Miami Beach showcasing game logos on beach umbrellas until December 31, expected to yield $3-$4 million. Additional promotions feature a €400 Vice City-themed gadget box and murals in both Brooklyn and Paris.
