award · 2026-10-14

On October 6, 2026, Madison Bycroft, an artist from Adelaide born in 1987 and currently residing in Paris, received the Colline ad Arte international award for her project TERMINI at Palazzo Balbi in Venice. This installation, inspired by the ancient Roman practice of Augury, consists of four one-meter ceramic sculptures alongside smaller elements influenced by cippi. Bycroft will develop the installation during a residency with Associazione Piccoli Ceramisti di Scomigo in Conegliano, utilizing local materials. The completion is expected between late October and early November, with final installation slated for spring. A jury, which included Eugene Yiu Nam Cheung and Marinella Senatore, selected Bycroft from ten artists. The initiative, led by Sabrina Donadel, aims to establish a permanent collection in the Prosecco Hills.
