Louis Vuitton Reinterprets Keith Haring in 13-Bag Artycapucines Capsule
Louis Vuitton's eighth Artycapucines edition, a project launched in 2019 that invites international artists to reinterpret the Capucines bag, is dedicated to Keith Haring through a collaboration with the Keith Haring Foundation. The capsule comprises 13 models drawing on Haring's imagery, including the dancing figures of Running Heart and the Radiant Baby, translated into surfaces and details through leather marquetry and laser printing. A standout is the Capucines Nano Running Heart, an evening pochette inspired by the 1984 work of the same name and embellished with more than 12,000 crystals. The collection also features a minaudière shaped like a takeout container, decorated with Statue of Liberty and Big Apple motifs tied to New York, and the Capucines MM Genesis, which recalls a Louis Vuitton suitcase Haring personalized in 1984. The bags reach Louis Vuitton stores on January 1, 2027, as first reported by WWD. Earlier in 2026, the maison had already reworked Haring's work in garments shown at its women's runway show at the Frick Collection in New York. Past Artycapucines participants include Takashi Murakami, Urs Fischer and Tschabalala Self, and a Sotheby's collaboration gathered 22 artists, among them Ugo Rondinone, Jonas Wood and Fischer. The Haring capsule is part of a broader Haring-inspired project spanning prêt-à-porter, leather goods and accessories, to be presented by the end of 2026.
