Liliana Cosi Documentary Premieres in Reggio Emilia, Chronicling a Career That Crossed the Iron Curtain
On 14 October, Teatro Rosebud in Reggio Emilia will host the premiere of Camilla Ferranti's documentary "La vita e l'arte di Liliana Cosi," showcasing a unique 82-minute edition. Liliana Cosi, born in Milan in 1941, honed her skills at the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala. In 1963, she was invited to the Bolshoi in Moscow, where she served as a guest étoile and performed 137 times between 1968 and 1977. During the Cold War, she notably crossed the Iron Curtain, working alongside Rudolf Nureyev and others. The film delves into her return to Italy, her collaboration with Marinel Stefanescu, and the establishment of Balletto Classico, depicting her as a disciplined, spiritual figure who found success without adopting a diva persona.
