Zineb Sedira's Postcolonial Reflections at Tabakalera
In San Sebastian, Spain, Tabakalera is hosting an exhibition titled 'Standing Here Wondering Which Way to Go,' featuring the work of French-Algerian artist Zineb Sedira. This showcase explores postcolonial themes like migration, memory, and identity. It includes four of Sedira's installations and a curatorial perspective linked to Spain's colonial history, such as an early Spanish version of Frantz Fanon's 'The Wretched of the Earth' from 1961. Notable works include her film 'Mise-en-scène' (2019), which highlights Algeria's role in militant cinema. Curators Ane Agirre Loinaz and Rita Fabiana connect her art to Spain and Portugal’s colonial narratives, referencing key historical moments and figures. The exhibition runs until June 14.
