Zaha Hadid Architects Unveils Songshan Lake Exhibition and Performance Center in Dongguan
Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA) has completed the Songshan Lake Exhibition and Performance Center (SSLEPC) in Dongguan, China, within the Greater Bay Area of the Pearl River Estuary. The center is part of a mixed-use urban plan to revitalize the Yuehe Lake waterfront. Designed as a civic and cultural landmark, SSLEPC will host national and international events, exhibitions, and performances for all ages. The public program launched with a concert by the China National Symphony Orchestra titled 'The Sound of Songhu'. The project is led by Patrik Schumacher as architect in charge, with project director Johannes Schafelner and project architect Martin Krcha. The client is Dongguan Songshan Lake OCT Investment and Development Co., Ltd, with local architect Beijing Institute of Architectural Design (BIAD). The center is scheduled for completion in 2026.
