Zachary Fabri's 'Pink Kool-Aid Menagerie' Opens at Ogden Contemporary Arts

exhibition · 2026-10-06

Zachary Fabri, a Brooklyn-based artist, will showcase his exhibition Pink Kool-Aid Menagerie at Ogden Contemporary Arts in Utah from October 2, 2026, until January 3, 2027. Developed during a two-month residency, the display includes painting, photography, video, sculpture, and performance, drawing inspiration from the Great Salt Lake and surrounding communities. Notable influences are Robert Smithson's Spiral Jetty (1970) and various pink themes, ranging from halophilic microorganisms to Kool-Aid, which tie back to the 1978 tragedy involving Jim Jones and the Peoples Temple. Fabri's work features contributions from Carrie Mae Weems, Lorna Simpson, Pope.L, and David Hammons, reflecting on Black American narratives and the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Photography is by Tristan Sadler, with support from Ogden Contemporary Arts.
