Yutaka Yoshida Architect & Associates Completes 85 m² House in Minamigata, Okayama

architecture-design · 2026-10-22

A compact residence of 85 m² in Minamigata, completed in 2024, sits on a corner lot in a small town positioned between the Shinkansen line running from JR Okayama Station and two conventional rail lines. Yutaka Yoshida served as principal architect, with Nanoka Kunishige leading the team at Yutaka Yoshida Architect & Associates. Photography was handled by Yutaka Yoshida and Katsumasa Tanaka, and Miwa Negoro curated the presentation. The Nishikawa Green Belt, which cuts through the center of Okayama, lies nearby, while a small amusement park planted with cherry trees sits north of the site across a canal. Water and vegetation frame the surroundings. The project falls under the residential architecture and houses category.
