Yoseba MP Completes Portaje Mural for Muro Crítico 2026
Yoseba MP has finalized the mural titled "Cuando había 6 bares y mucho ruido" ("When There Were Six Bars and Lots of Noise") at the care home in Portaje, Spain, as part of Muro Crítico 2026. Scheduled for September 21–25, 2026, by the provincial council, the mural illustrates a scene from 1963, a time when Portaje's population was approximately 1,400. In contrast, the project notes the current number of residents is around 370. The mural evokes a vibrant town filled with chatter, with older residents recognizing their childhood selves in the artwork. By placing it in a care home, it reaches those who remember the Portaje of yesteryear. Muro Crítico, a collaboration between the Diputación de Cáceres and Portaje's town council, is curated by Sojo.
