Yont Studio's Brutalist Cassette Listening Booth Opens at KaDeWe Berlin
At Berlin's KaDeWe department store, Yont Studio has set up a unique hybrid display stand and listening booth, utilizing repurposed car seats and more than 140 cassette tapes. This installation, created in collaboration with Telekom Electronic Beats and Namilia, showcases a fashion line inspired by Iggy Pop's 1977 track 'The Passenger.' Shoppers are invited to enjoy rare cassette recordings, featuring DJs such as Sven Väth and Carl Cox. The display incorporates pink foam wedges to showcase fashion items. Founded by Coşan Karadeniz and Serdar Ayvaz, Yont Studio seeks to capture the essence of Berlin's techno scene. The booth remains accessible until 27 September, encouraging visitors to listen and trade cassettes. Photography by Juan Camilo for Telekom Electronic Beats.
