Yomoni Survey of 3,600 French Families Reveals Parents Struggle With Children's Pocket Money and Financial Education

A survey conducted by Yomoni from August 21 to 28, 2026, involved 3,600 parents with children aged 6 to 17. The results indicated that 47% of respondents think their children lack an understanding of money's worth, while 57% of parents with teenagers do not set a fixed budget. Although 70% engage in conversations about finances, merely 13% disclose actual amounts; for teenagers, 83% talk about it, yet only 24% are open with figures. Equal allowances are given by 56% of parents of younger kids and 51% of those with teenagers, though boys receive more in 9% of instances. Only 21% believe they are effectively teaching money management. Unauthorized tech spending among teenagers has reached 55%. Tom Demaison highlighted the necessity of financial education beyond just the amounts given.
