Yokohama BUNTAI Multipurpose Arena Opens in Kannai With Design by Taisei Design Planners

A new multipurpose arena complex has been finalized in the Kannai station vicinity of Yokohama, designed to accommodate both large events and general audiences, including significant sports and concerts. Covering 15,462 m², the project is set for completion in 2024 and was developed by TAISEI DESIGN Planners Architects & Engineers in collaboration with ArchiBox Co. Ltd. and Azusa Sekkei Co. Ltd. Miwa Negoro curated the initiative, aimed at enhancing community development around the station. The design team from Azusa Sekkei featured Kazuya Toramoto, Masakuni Nagahiro, and Masato Ishinari, while structural engineering was led by Atsushi Matsuura. Taisei Corporation was the contractor, and various suppliers contributed to the project. The venue will include restaurants, bars, stadium areas, and community spaces.
