YOD Group's FlipDog in Shoreditch Pairs a Waone Mural With an 18th-Century Bar Relic

In London’s Shoreditch, the YOD Group, a Ukrainian design studio, has launched FlipDog, a cocktail bar spread across two levels in the historic Imperial Hall. The establishment features a ground-floor bar and an 80-seat basement, housed within a building dating back to the early 1900s. The ground level showcases textured foil walls, steel arches, and leather furnishings, complemented by a specialized lighting system from Ukrainian firm Expolight that highlights cocktails. The basement boasts a unique circular sink with a metal loggerhead, an 18th-century bartending tool, encased in glycerine. Sofa niches are adorned with a distinctive fabric by WAONE, part of the Kyiv street art duo Interesni Kazki. Co-owner Dmytro Bonesco emphasized the goal of establishing a unique standard for London’s bar scene, rather than replicating existing venues. This project is a collaboration among YOD Group, WAONE, and Expolight.
