Yeti Debuts Solo Show 'The Greatest Nation Ever' at The Edit Gallery in Limassol
The Edit Gallery in Limassol, Cyprus, presents 'The Greatest Nation Ever', the first solo exhibition by the artist Yeti, running from 8 May to 6 June 2026. The show features paintings, wall interventions, and sculptural elements that critique political rhetoric through Byzantine reverse perspective and personal mythology. Key works include 'Theater of the Absurd' (2025), a large oil canvas depicting a figure with a birdhouse head in a turbulent landscape; 'Fearless and Carefree' (2026), combining oil, wood, plastic, and a taxidermy thrush; and 'Fucking Ell' (2025), a sky painting with an expletive written in clouds. The installation extends beyond the canvas, with painted roots, cloud outlines, and a tree branch crossing the ceiling. An exhibition text by Anya Masalova accompanies the show. Yeti works without preparatory sketches, building compositions through the act of making. The exhibition explores the gap between proclaimed national greatness and underlying reality, using archetypal imagery and mythological structures without moralizing.
