Yasmin David's Landscape Paintings Revealed in 'The Nature of Light' at Thelma Hulbert Gallery

exhibition · 2026-09-15

The solo exhibition The Nature of Light, showcasing over 40 canvases by Yasmin David, is currently on display at Thelma Hulbert Gallery in Honiton until 31 October. Curated by Gemma Girvan, the exhibition emphasizes David's significant contribution to British landscape painting, situated just 40 miles from her residence near Dartmoor in Luscombe. Following her passing, David's artistic prowess came to light when her daughter Clio uncovered more than 200 canvases and 550 paper works. In 2021, a memorial exhibition at New Art Gallery Walsall presented her art alongside her father's poetry and letters. Clio David is working with the Courtauld Institute to preserve her mother’s artistic legacy.
