Yano House: Reinforced Concrete Porticoes in São Paulo

architecture-design · 2026-07-09

The Yano House, a 260 m² home completed in 2022, was crafted by Peninsula Arquitetura and Sanpo Arquitetura on a slender 10m x 44m plot. This design incorporates nine reinforced concrete porticoes across the shorter side, with columns integrated into the boundary walls and upper beams visible only at the roof. Both the interior and exterior lack visible columns. The project was overseen by Susanna Moreira, with contributions from Gabriel Cesar e Santos and Thomas Yano. Construction was managed by Eugenio Amodio Conte, while engineering was handled by Flavio de Senço, José Guilherme Carceles, and Patricia Miho Tsunoushi, with structural engineering by Pedro Negri and landscape design by Seiva. Various manufacturers supported the project, including GRAPHISOFT and Cia do Metal.
