Xiang Architects' Chenhu Migratory Bird Observation Tower Opens in Wuhan Wetland

The Chenhu Migratory Bird Observation Tower, a 303-square-meter pavilion, has been finalized by Xiang Architects. This structure is located on Xianglushan, a natural promontory that rises 22 meters above sea level in Wuhan's Chenhu Wetland. It provides sweeping views of Tonghu, the Tongshun River, and extensive marshlands that attract over 100,000 migratory birds each winter. Lead architect Xiang Nan, along with project architect Qin Chuan, designed the tower to enhance the experience of ascent, emphasizing movement and connection with nature rather than mere efficiency. Structural design was executed by AND Office, with Zhang Zhun and Xu Yue contributing. The project is expected to conclude in 2026, with photography by Hao Chen and mumu. The client is Wuhan Urban Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd.
