Wujiang Wedding Hall Renovation by NODE Architecture & Urbanism

architecture-design · 2026-07-14

NODE Architecture & Urbanism has renovated a former café and croquet court into the Wujiang Wedding Hall, located on the north side of the Chuihong Scenic Area in Wujiang District, Suzhou. The site's cultural roots trace back to the Chuihong Bridge, originally built during the Northern Song dynasty. Over a millennium, the area accumulated landmarks including the bridge ruins, Huayan Pagoda, and the Ji Cheng Memorial Hall, forming a historical landscape shaped by Lake Taihu and the Grand Canal. The renovation preserves the existing structure while introducing new functions such as a civil marriage registration office and commercial spaces.
