Wuhan Optics Valley Runjing Park Commercial Renewal by Dachuan Design and WTD Weitu
The China Resources Wuhan Optics Valley Runjing Park Commercial Renewal project, designed by Dachuan Design and WTD Weitu Design, is a 33,000 m² commercial and landscape architecture development in Wuhan, China, with a completion year of 2026. The project addresses three urban renewal challenges through a 'clustered embedding' approach: multi-stakeholder integration blurring boundaries between community, municipal, and operational entities; a paradigm shift from formal composition to functional organization; and residential value reorientation toward practical publicness. Key collaborators include Beijing Luojia Team for the children's themed park, VEGA for underbridge sports facilities, and GLA Architectural Design for the residential area. The lead designer for planning and landscape is Li Hui, and for the building cluster is Hong Dongtao. The project aims to open residential boundaries to the city by introducing compact, lightweight, and operable public spaces.
