Wright Office completes Radnor Road infill apartments in Peckham

Wright Office, a London-based architecture firm, has finalized Radnor Road, a small-scale project consisting of two apartments on a triangular infill lot in Peckham. Spanning 130 square meters, the structure features two two-bedroom apartments distributed over three levels. The building presents a four-meter-wide brick facade to the street, echoing the dimensions of neighboring properties, while expanding to 13 meters at the back to accommodate two private gardens. Acting as both developer and architect, Wright Office sought to enhance the 'sense of discovery' by designing narrow, dimly lit entryways that open into spacious living areas adorned with pale lime-washed walls. The ground floor includes a guest bedroom adjacent to the entrance, leading to a sizable living, dining, and kitchen area, while the main bedroom is situated in a single-story brick volume that opens onto a garden patio. This volume features the same rough clinker bricks as the exterior, paired with lime-wash paint, wooden floors, and minimalist white fixtures inside. The first floor, set back, contains the living space and main bedroom of the second apartment, along with an additional bedroom and a skylit bathroom in the attic. Director Alex Wright characterized the building as 'distinctive yet quiet,' drawing inspiration from nearby houses built in the 1950s and 1970s.
