World Press Photo 2026 at Museo Franz Mayer: A Dual Exhibition

World Press Photo 2026 arrives at Mexico City's Museo Franz Mayer from June 24 to October 4, featuring a double edition that marks the museum's 40th anniversary and the World Press Photo Foundation's 70th. The exhibition presents 144 images selected from over 57,000 entries by 3,747 photographers across 141 countries. The Photo of the Year, 'Separated by ICE' by Carol Guzy (ZUMA Press, iWitness, Miami Herald), captures a child clinging to her father during an ICE detention after a New York immigration hearing. Mexican photographer César Rodríguez won the long-term project category for North and Central America with 'Mexico, A Changing Climate,' documenting climate crisis impacts from Tabasco's coastal erosion to Monterrey's water scarcity. A companion show, 'World Press Photo: El Archivo,' features 33 historical photographs from 1959 onward, sourced from the National Archives of the Netherlands and the foundation's collections.
