WOMAD Glasgow cancelled due to low ticket sales

The inaugural WOMAD festival in Glasgow has been cancelled due to insufficient ticket sales. The event, scheduled for July 3-4 at Kelvingrove Park, was organized by Glasgow Life in partnership with WOMAD. Organizers cited a competitive market and low sales as reasons for cancellation. Full refunds will be issued, and affected customers can access discounted tickets for WOMAD in Neston Park, North Wiltshire (July 23-26). The festival, founded by Peter Gabriel in 1982, has been held in 30 countries. The Glasgow edition was to feature Hollie Cook, Ustad Noor Bakhsh, and Peat and Diesel.
