Wolfgang Hollegha's Abstract Legacy and Recent Art Market Highlights

Wolfgang Hollegha, an Austrian painter who passed away in 2023, is being rediscovered in Wiesbaden. A pioneer of abstraction in Austria, Hollegha created large-scale works using a unique pouring technique with thinned oil paint on horizontal canvases, which he perfected over decades. He lived and worked in seclusion at his studio on the Rechberg in the Graz uplands from 1961 until his death at age 94.
