Winca Mendy's "Hypersignal" at Galerie Nicolas Salloum: Silver Prints, Lumen and Chromogenic Works
From 28 May to 9 July 2026, Galerie Nicolas Salloum showcased Winca Mendy's inaugural solo exhibition, titled Hypersignal. This display includes silver gelatin, lumen, and chromogenic prints. Mendy, who graduated from Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2025, transitioned from a legal career to art, drawing inspiration from Djamel Tatah. He has honed his skills in analog photography, engraving, and mosaic, with an emphasis on drawing. His friend Raphaël motivated him to pursue art, resulting in collaborations within the collective Amour&Patience. Hypersignal delves into the concept of radiation, intertwining scientific and spiritual perspectives, featuring yellow plastic screens and nods to Neon Genesis Evangelion. Works such as Le Cœur and Dharma reflect themes of Buddhism and reincarnation. The accompanying text is authored by Inès Chaouachi.
