WildSumaco Biological Station by Caá Porá Arquitectura

Caá Porá Arquitectura has completed the WildSumaco Biological Station, a 280 m² research center, in 2025. This facility is located near the Pacto Sumaco community at the foot of Ecuador's Sumaco volcano, right on the edge of the Sumaco Napo Galeras National Park, where the Andes meet the Amazon. This area is known for its incredible biodiversity, so the design focused on blending with the natural environment, treating the forest as a living component. Key team members included Josué Fernández, Andrea Rodríguez, Gen Moya, structural engineer Patricio Cevallos, and furniture designer Bernardo Jarrín. The construction involved collaboration with the Pacto Sumaco community, and photography was done by JAG Studio.
