Werner Bronkhorst's Largest Exhibition 'HIGH' Opens at Berlin's Atrium Tower

South African painter Werner Bronkhorst will unveil his largest exhibition to date, titled 'HIGH,' at the Atrium Tower on Marlene-Dietrich-Platz in Berlin's Potsdamer Platz. The show, opening October 2–4, marks Bronkhorst's European debut and will feature more than 40 new paintings inspired by the sky's energy and open possibility. Bronkhorst's technique involves building up thick, heavily applied layers of paint to create richly three-dimensional backgrounds, then painting hyper-realistic miniature figures and objects with exacting detail. His works blend abstract expressionism with trompe l'oeil, inviting viewers to imagine themselves as tiny people within a vast, textured world. He cites influences from Andy Warhol, Willem De Kooning, Keith Haring, and René Magritte. Bronkhorst organizes his output into thematically linked collections that contain hidden references to the slogan 'Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll.' The exhibition is scheduled for October 2–4, 2025, at the Atrium Tower in Berlin.
