WERCK Workshop Renovates Berlin Apartment Inspired by São Paulo Skyline
WERCK Workshop, based in Dresden, has transformed a 75-square-metre apartment in Berlin, drawing inspiration from Paulo Mendes da Rocha's Edifício Jaraguá. Situated in a 22-storey tower built in 1976, the apartment is described as 'an oasis above the city' and includes features such as a ceiling fan, plant-cooled air, and a light color scheme. The initial three-room design was stripped down to its concrete framework, with a central servicing core that integrates the kitchen, washing machine, and bathroom radiator. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide stunning views of the Berlin skyline. The renovation, which cost 1,060 euros per square metre and utilized materials like aluminium and American cherry, was a collaboration with Lukas Beer from Hauptstadt-Studio and is set to finish in 2026.
