Weekly Art Roundup: Rye Summer Show, Carrington at Freud Museum, and Jurassic Oceans at NHM

The Guardian's weekly art roundup showcases exhibitions across the UK. At the Kate MacGarry Gallery, 'The Air of Ideas' featuring works by Lisa Milroy, Marcus Coates, and Francis Upritchard runs until 31 August. In Gateshead, Baltic hosts 'Tish Murtha and Kuba Ryniewicz – Close to Home' from 4 July to 4 April. MK Gallery displays 'Life in Colour' by Jacques Henri Lartigue until 4 October. The Freud Museum has extended 'Leonora Carrington: The Symptomatic Surreal' through 10 August. 'Jurassic Oceans: Monsters of the Deep' is on view at the Natural History Museum until 3 January. Ai Weiwei’s 'Button Up!' in Manchester addresses colonial history. Other highlights include a valuable Spanish painting discovery, long lines for the Bayeux tapestry, and damage to John Hutton's glass engraving at Coventry Cathedral. This week's featured masterpiece is Botticelli's 'Saint Francis of Assisi with Angels' at the National Gallery.
