Carol Kirkwood, the longtime weather presenter for BBC Breakfast, delivered her final broadcast on Wednesday after 28 years with the program. The broadcaster announced her departure in January, citing her desire to travel and spend additional time with her husband, Steve. During her farewell episode, Kirkwood received numerous tributes from viewers, colleagues, and public figures, including Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, who praised her professionalism and warm demeanor. Colleague Sally Nugent remarked that Kirkwood had transformed television weather reporting. Reflecting on her career, Kirkwood expressed gratitude to audiences for welcoming her into their homes and highlighted memorable assignments such as covering Wimbledon, the Chelsea Flower Show, and Royal Ascot. The program featured video messages from celebrities like Zoe Ball, Chris Evans, and Bryan Adams, as well as a compilation of career highlights. Kirkwood was presented with gifts including a Little Miss Sunshine picture and a cake, and was joined on set by her husband.
