Warrior 1927 Flagship Store by STILL YOUNG: Dragon Installations Across Three Floors

architecture-design · 2026-05-29

STILL YOUNG has designed the Warrior 1927 concept flagship store in Shanghai's Shangxianfang neighborhood, occupying a three-story Shikumen building of 690 square meters. The store, located in a historic lane building, features three dragon-inspired art installations corresponding to past, present, and future. The ground floor houses a kinetic brand installation merging a shoe skeleton with a dragon's head, using steel and screens. The second floor hosts product collections, a tea bar with LELECHA, and a customization zone, with a ceiling-mounted dragon spine installation. The third floor is an experiential concept space with no retail, featuring a 'Dragon Eye' installation. The design incorporates the Chinese character '回' (meaning return) subliminally throughout. The project balances the building's history, Warrior's century-long legacy, and Gen Z retail culture.
