Warhol Retrospective at Former Supermarket in Landerneau

A major Andy Warhol retrospective opens June 6, 2026, at the Fonds Hélène & Édouard Leclerc pour la culture in Landerneau, Brittany, housed in the first Leclerc supermarket (1949). Curated by Amber Morgan of The Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh, the exhibition features mostly US-based works rarely seen in France, including Campbell's Soup cans, Brillo boxes, celebrity portraits, dollar signs, camouflage, and the Statue of Liberty (1986). The show is designed for broad audiences, opening with biographical photos and self-portraits, then tracing Warhol's early advertising work for Vogue and Glamour, his 1962 Ferus Gallery debut, and his later commissioned portraits and experimental films. It ends with the Trump Tower piece (rejected by Trump) and the Statue of Liberty. Runs through January 24, 2027.
