Village School Rebuilds After Palisades Fire with OFFICEUNTITLED Interim Campus and Gensler Building

In January 2025, the Palisades Fire ravaged the Village School's Palisades campus, leading to its displacement after more than three decades. Currently, students and staff are situated on a repurposed corporate office floor at BXP, Inc.'s Santa Monica Colorado Center, transformed by OFFICEUNTITLED in collaboration with the City of Santa Monica. This adaptation occurred in two stages: an initial rapid reoccupation achieved in less than three weeks, followed by a comprehensive renovation set to conclude by summer 2025. The temporary campus accommodates 300 students while adhering to stringent code requirements. The first phase utilized modular furniture and emergency measures, whereas the second phase incorporated "Imaginariums" and circulation spines. Demolition at the original site was finalized by October 2026, with a new building designed by Gensler anticipated to open in January 2028.
