Villa Hegra Brings Seven Saudi Women Artists to Asia Now 2026 at Monnaie de Paris
Seven women artists from Saudi Arabia anchor "Tables Around — Six Proposals from Saudi Arabia," an exhibition staged by Villa Hegra at Asia Now 2026. The Monnaie de Paris hosts the presentation from October 20 to 24, preceded by a VIP preview on October 19. Basmah Felemban and Gaël Charbau curated the show, which comprises six newly conceived artistic proposals. Mediums on view span sculpture, textiles, moving images, scent and furniture. The table serves as the organizing motif: a shared meal setting, a work surface, a family gathering point, and a silent witness to rituals and conversations now past. From these everyday associations, the participating artists examine how ordinary objects connect to cultural memory and present-day life. The exhibition deliberately avoids a single unified account of contemporary art in Saudi Arabia, opting instead for multiple positions across its six proposals.
