Villa Arconati Hosts 'Luce' Exhibition in Newly Restored Park

Villa Arconati, the 17th-century Baroque villa near Milan known as the 'little Versailles of Lombardy,' is hosting the group exhibition 'Luce' (Light) through July 5. Curated by Diana Segantini, granddaughter of painter Giovanni Segantini, the show features over twenty international artists whose works engage with the villa's Baroque interiors. Artists include Gabriella Benedini, Pietro Coletta, Riccardo De Marchi, Izumi Ōki, Igor Eskinja, and Diango Hernández. The exhibition is promoted by the Fondazione Augusto Rancillo, which rescued the villa from abandonment after 1994. The villa's monumental park has undergone restoration funded by PNRR, focusing on 18th-century features like the Fontana del Delfino, Teatro di Pompeo, and the Voliera. The park's water features were inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's Codex Atlanticus, which Count Galeazzo Arconati purchased in 1610 and later donated to Milan's Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana. The exhibition runs until July 5 at Villa Arconati, Via Fametta 1, Castellazzo di Bollate.
