Verity's Midcentury Modern Lake House in Armonk, New York: A Real Dansk Retreat
Located in Armonk, New York, the midcentury modern lake house showcased in the film Verity was crafted by Jens Quistgaard in the early 1960s for Martha and Ted Nierenberg. Currently known as Beckoning Path, a wellness retreat, it boasts a unique saw-tooth roof. Emmy Award-winning production designer Amy Williams likened the structure to 'a shipwrecked boat.' The interiors blend midcentury modernism with brutalist elements, featuring Dansk dishware and a custom sectional inspired by Harvey Progger. Certain sets were constructed on a soundstage. Verity, which stars Dakota Johnson, Anne Hathaway, and Josh Hartnett, is set to premiere on October 2.
