festival-fair · 2026-08-26

The 83rd Venice International Film Festival, scheduled for September 2-12, 2026, will feature a new online platform called Sala Web, offering streaming access to select films. The program includes three feature films from Biennale College Cinema and twelve short films from the Orizzonti section and Fuori concorso. The three features, all world premieres, are 'Demetra in esilio' by Maria Giovanna Cicciari (Italy), 'Gu Shi' by Amie Song (USA, Hong Kong, Thailand), and 'Tijuana, Todavía' by Gabriel Gutierrez Morales (Mexico). These will be available on the Biennale Cinema Channel via MYmovies, with Italian subtitles for viewers in Italy. The twelve shorts, including eleven from Orizzonti and one Fuori concorso, will be free to stream worldwide on Festival Scope. Each film will be available starting at 21:00 (features) or 18:00 (shorts) on their official screening day, with access for five days or until September 30, 2026, respectively. Accredited attendees can purchase a special MYmovies ONE Premium subscription at €10.00 per year. Biennale College Cinema is supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture and Chanel, with academic collaboration from Gotham Film & Media Institute and TorinoFilmLab. The director of the festival is Alberto Barbera, with Savina Neirotti as Head of Programme.
