Vancouver Art Gallery Unveils 2026/2027 Shows on Iranian Modernism, Hong Kong, and Stephanie Comilang
Three exhibitions slated for 2026/2027 will be staged by the Vancouver Art Gallery under the banner of its Centre for Global Asias, the institution announced. Spanning Asia and its diasporas, the programme includes what the gallery describes as the largest presentation of Iranian modernism yet mounted in Canada, a survey covering six decades of artistic innovation in Hong Kong, and two large-scale moving-image installations by Filipina Canadian artist Stephanie Comilang. Eva Respini, Co-CEO and Chief Curator of the Vancouver Art Gallery, framed the series around the breadth of voices and histories assembled, citing the experimentation of Iranian modernists, the development of Hong Kong's art scene and Comilang's explorations as the through-lines. The Centre for Global Asias organizes the line-up as a Gallery initiative. No individual dates or venues within the run were specified in the announcement.
