Valeria Maculan's 'La frontera húmeda' at CAB Burgos

Valeria Maculan presents 'La frontera húmeda' at the Centro de Arte Caja de Burgos CAB, running from June 19 to September 6, 2026. The exhibition occupies the -1 level of the CAB, offering a mythical, imaginary, and open-ended narrative where the body becomes a wandering Benjaminian flâneur. Maculan dissolves categories between painting, installation, and scene, creating a field of forces where images pass and surround the viewer. Her practice shifts perception from optical to spatial, making the viewer part of the experience. The show is described as a sensitive architecture without recognizable beginning or end, allowing each visitor to edit their own version in real time. Works function as stars in an open constellation, requiring movement and changes in distance. 'Dispositivo coro' transforms the classical theater chorus into a tool for collective enunciation. The exhibition maintains a state of constant hibernation, with pieces holding their own time. Maculan's proposal introduces an active suspension where perception reorganizes, resisting reduction to discourse. The space blurs boundaries between real and constructed, inside and outside.
