Vabel Townhouse: 28-home boutique reimagines London townhouse on Queensway

architecture-design · 2026-06-28

Vabel Townhouse, a new development by design and development studio Vabel, reimagines the traditional London townhouse as a boutique 28-home structure clad in light brick on the south end of Queensway, near Hyde Park. Founded in 2009 by Daniel Baliti and Jeremy Spencer, Vabel has made its mark with design-led projects. The building scales up the single-family home, inspired by Victorian townhouses and following the street's massing and facade grids. Inside, a minimalist lobby features warm dark timbers, pink and green stone floors and walls, and an art deco-inspired fireplace with a discreet reception desk. Units range from one- to three-bedroom apartments and maisonettes, with two penthouses at the top. Green spaces include a rear garden accessible to all, leading to a residents' gym, and a planted roof at the front. The Vabel creative team designed all interiors, offering five of nine fully furnished apartments with bespoke joinery, built-in furniture, kitchens, and tailored furniture. Creative director Jeremy Spencer stated the ambition was to create differentiated homes with an elevated living experience, carefully curated from architectural language to interior finishes. The project follows Vabel Lawrence in Seven Sisters, and a second Vabel residential development is in the works further up Queensway.
