Ushida Findlay's Soft and Hairy House at V&A Dundee

A new exhibition at V&A Dundee explores the work of the Scottish-Japanese architectural partnership Ushida Findlay, featuring the iconic Soft and Hairy House. Completed in 1994 in Tokyo, the house was inspired by Salvador Dalí's 1922 prophecy that architecture would become 'soft and hairy.' The duo, Kathryn Findlay and Eisaku Ushida, combined Celtic coiling, Japanese 'rawness,' fractal geometries, and chaos theory to create sensual, surreal dwellings. The exhibition also includes other projects like a starfish-shaped beach palace in Qatar. It runs at V&A Dundee.
