Usher and Lauren Halsey Collaborate on Tour Outfit and Art for Atlanta Home

artist · 2026-08-26

Usher, the Grammy-winning artist, has collaborated with Lauren Halsey from Los Angeles to design a unique outfit for his R&B tour with Chris Brown that started in June. Their partnership kicked off when Usher visited Halsey’s studio in fall 2024, thanks to gallerist Easy Otabor's introduction. He had previously commissioned a special piece for his home in Atlanta that pays homage to traditional Black barbershop art. The outfit, styled by Yashua Simmons, features an Atlanta Braves cap, a Gucci jacket, and denim pants that Halsey airbrushed with vibrant colors. Halsey’s art, rooted in Afro-futurism, includes a sculpture park named 'sister dreamer' (2026) and an upcoming event at the Hollywood Bowl on September 29, showcasing artists like Erykah Badu. Usher, who lives in Atlanta with his wife Jennifer and four kids, is also an art collector. In a chat, Halsey talked about her daily prayers, while Usher discussed his dedication to workouts, even on tour. They both look forward to new projects, with Halsey suggesting a stage idea and Usher emphasizing the importance of celebrating Black culture through art.
