Uri KTHR's Sant Pere Pescador Mural Rises Beside L'Ametlla de Mar Port
Overlooking the waters from the historic fishermen's guild building at L'Ametlla de Mar's port in Spain is a newly spray-painted depiction of Saint Peter. Completed in 2024 by artist Uri KTHR, the mural, named Sant Pere Pescador, was created as part of the town's Efímurs mural initiative, with the building serving as the local fishing interpretation center. Saint Peter is illustrated with a yellow robe reminiscent of fishermen's attire and a white beard, holding two keys and the Fisherman's Ring. According to local broadcaster La Cala RTV, the original mural proposal was rejected by the guild, leading to KTHR's commission. The artwork was finalized by early July 2024, following the festival's initial schedule. Visitors can find this piece along the Efímurs route by the port, with the keys symbolizing an exchange between KTHR and Brazilian artist Pedro Filite, the initial muralist assigned to the wall.
