Urbánika's ARC Park: House-like Concrete Play Structures in Chihuahua

Urbánika, a Mexican architectural firm, has unveiled ARC Park, a 6,000-square-meter community space located in Chihuahua, Mexico. The park, which stands for Activity, Recreation, and Community, acts as the social nucleus of a mixed-use development. It boasts amenities such as a children's playground, a café, service areas, and courts designated for pickleball, basketball, table tennis, and volleyball. The playground features small concrete structures for climbing, descending, and socializing, all linked by a central platform. Additional amenities include a fire pit, pet showers, and public restrooms. More than 120 trees were chosen for their suitability to the desert environment. The design team comprises Federico Campos, Andrés Elías, and Oscar Chávez, with photography by Campos and Santiago Ruiz.
