University of Sheffield showcases sea-level rise adaptation for Hull
The School of Architecture and Landscape at the University of Sheffield presented student initiatives focused on climate resilience, urban regeneration, and rewilding. Among the highlighted projects were Hui Zhang's 'A City Learning to Breathe with the Tide' for Hull, Rachel Mckinlay's 'Red Bank Regenerative Water Strategy' for Manchester, and Veronica Moreno Jimenez's 'A Wastewater Landscape Biograph' for the Mezquital Valley in Mexico. Additional works included Sammy Kafu's 'Rewilding our Cultural Heritage,' Jo Gallager's 'Healing Scars,' Kathryn Inskip's 'Porter Brook Park,' and Madeleine Benyon's 'Friarwood.' The Rosie Reynold's Creative Design Award 2026 was awarded to the Matilda Street Sanctuary Project. These projects were developed as part of BA and MLA courses under the guidance of various faculty members.
