Uma Wang Spring 2027 Menswear Inspired by Peter Beard
Chinese designer Uma Wang presented her Spring 2027 menswear collection, drawing inspiration from the late photographer Peter Beard and other 'perfectly imperfect' men. Wang focused on Italian fabrics from Tuscan mills, using lightweight cotton washed to appear worn-in, stained and dyed linen, and a metallic component fabric that gives structure. One print of poppies came from a photograph near a production facility, also reflecting the flowers in her Chinese studio. The collection featured open trench coats, tailored Bermuda shorts, technical trousers, balloon-cut pinstripe styles, and short-sleeved shirts with integrated scarves, achieving an effortless, unforced look. Wang noted she observes people on the street and in her life for ideas, emphasizing raw sophistication and a life genuinely lived.
