Ulrich Erben's 'Senza fine' at Galleria Studio G7, Bologna

German painter Ulrich Erben (born 1940, Düsseldorf) presents his sixth solo exhibition at Galleria Studio G7 in Bologna, titled 'Senza fine'. The show features new works created between 2025 and 2026, all sharing the same title and formal structure of horizontal color fields separated by thin lines. Erben has exhibited at the gallery since 1994, originally under founder Ginevra Grigolo, now directed by Giulia Biafiore. The paintings range from cool blues, mauves, and pearl grays to warm earth reds, oxidized browns, and deep blacks with violet and burnt orange undertones. A large horizontal canvas at the entrance deviates from the square or vertical formats, employing a double horizontal-vertical grid. The title 'Senza fine' (Without End) suggests an open series, temporal dependence of perception, and the artist's ongoing career at age 85. The exhibition runs from April 30 to July 30, 2026, with critical text by Martina Corgnati.
