Ugo La Pietra's 'Alla finestra' at Fondazione La Rocca

At 88, Ugo La Pietra presents 'Alla finestra' at Fondazione La Rocca in Pescara, running until October 3, 2026. Curated by Giacinto Di Pietrantonio, the exhibition gathers 70 site-specific works exploring the window as a boundary between inside and outside, real and imaginary. La Pietra, trained as an architect at Politecnico di Milano in 1964, draws on Renaissance theories of perspective, citing Leon Battista Alberti's 'De Pictura' and Erwin Panofsky's 'La prospettiva come forma simbolica'. His multimedia practice spans painting, photography, and sculpture, influenced by Segno Painting and Narrative Art. The catalog, published by Allemandi, was presented at the opening. La Pietra has directed magazines like 'Progettare Inpiù' and in 2020 had a retrospective at Palazzo Collicola in Spoleto. Fondazione La Rocca, founded in 2022, recently appointed Simone Ciglia as Chief Curator. Founder Ottorino La Rocca hopes visitors will position themselves under the window, awaiting La Pietra's material exchange.
