TwoPoints.Net Designs Andscape Typeface for ESPN and Disney

The Berlin-based design studio TwoPoints.Net has created a custom typeface system for Andscape, a platform by ESPN and Disney that shares stories of Black life and culture. The typography system, named Andscape, comprises 27 fonts across three main widths, ranging from Condensed to Extended cuts, with weights from Ultra Thin to Extra Bold. The design addresses a common issue where letters warp when stretched across wide web banners by incorporating built-in flat bars and straight horizontal segments, ensuring that round and sharp letters maintain their stroke balance and do not flatten or thin out at any width. The font family is designed to work within a strict print grid, with specimen sheets pairing giant titles with crisp text blocks. Narrow styles are suitable for tight vertical rows, while wide cuts are intended for outdoor boards. The typeface has been tested in real print jobs, including street posters on brick walls, where the bold graphic print and heavy ink are showcased.
