Tutte le creature abitano il confine: Beaufour e Calore in dialogo postumo a Venezia

A Palazzetto Tito in Venice, the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa presents 'Tutte le creature abitano il confine' from September 5 to 27, pairing works by Henri Beaufour (1965-2025) and Chiara Calore (b. 1994). Curated by Luca Berta and Francesca Giubilei, the exhibition was conceived before Beaufour's premature death in November 2025, transforming the project into a meditation on absence, identity, and metamorphosis. Calore's intricate paintings teem with creatures and objects, while Beaufour's sculptures evoke primordial forms. The show includes a striking juxtaposition of two self-portraits: a ceramic sculpture by Calore and a painting on panel by Beaufour, blurring boundaries between media. Calore, a 2018 fellow of the foundation, returns to Palazzetto Tito in a symbolic passing of the torch. The curators note that artworks always say more than their authors intended, and Beaufour's silence becomes a powerful presence. The exhibition thus explores how art continues to generate relationships beyond the artist's life.
