Trump Shares Doctored Photo on Truth Social, Replacing Monica Crowley with Natalie Harp

President Trump posted a manipulated image on Truth Social showing him saluting stoically during a Chinese president's arrival ceremony at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland on Wednesday. The original Getty Images photo, corroborated by Reuters and the Associated Press, captures Trump grimacing as a bomber flew overhead. BBC Verify investigated and concluded the photo was edited. Reporters identified several discrepancies: Trump wears only one black glove in the altered image, while all other footage from that day shows him wearing gloves on both hands. The aide behind Trump, chief of protocol Monica Crowley, was replaced by a different woman who resembles Natalie Harp, Trump's aide known as the 'human printer.' Additional edits include missing red markings on the Air China plane and altered hair. Henry Farid, co-founder of GetReal Security, told the BBC that the changes are cosmetic edits typical of photo clean-ups, and given the other obvious edits, it is clear the image was modified, increasing the chance that the differences stem from digital or AI editing. The doctored photo was shared on Truth Social, and the incident highlights growing concerns over manipulated political imagery.
